      The Placemill Rake

For all Seasons . For all Reasons

The Placemill Rake started off as an idea stemming from memories of using a wooden rake during haymaking on my grandfathers farm in Northern Ireland in the 50s. When I found an old wooden rake some years ago and started using it round the garden I realised how useful and adaptable it was but how inconvenient as the teeth kept braking and requiring replacement. The upshot was the 'Placemill Rake' made of  recycled strong polypropylene and with teeth designed not to get clogged up with leaves and rubbish. The cruciform tooth design also adds durability without sacrificing strength so raking leaves be they wet or dry, clearing clippings from hedge cuttings or straw, hay or weeds and anywhere else that needs tidying up becomes very easy. The addition of the blade on the back means that the rake can also be used for leveling and screeding sand and seed beds. Since developing the original rake head we have expanded the product range to include a site and general purpose shovel with a 45cm head width and can also offer both products in the TUFF range with aluminium long reach handles.
